Overwatch fans - prepare to have your minds blown! An art student, Weerawan Mapithak, has conceptualised a new Overwatch hero. Her work is epic.

If you're scratching your head in confusion, I'm referring to one of the most detailed fan-made Overwatch hero concepts the internet has seen so far; check it out the video from Unit Lost Gaming above.

The concept is for a support hero called Tara, and she’s obviously a badass! Tara is an activist and member of a marine conservation group called Fighting Fish, based in Thailand. Tara has equipment designed to help restore the oceans and coastal regions to their former condition, restoring the damage caused by the omnic crisis (similar to Mei’s gear, designed to combat climate change). From what we can see her abilities include being able to temporarily ‘bubble’ enemies, allowing her to stop them in their tracks, and release a healing drone to keep the team alive. Awesome!

The most incredible thing here is that the concept is so detailed; it looks like it came straight from one of Blizzard’s offices. Jeff Kaplan (Game director and VP of Blizzard) even popped up in the comments, complimenting the talent!

One thing that really stands out to me is that Tara actually works when you think about her character and the rest of the Overwatch roster - we have a great combination of characters who are driven by what's right, having to work alongside (or against) characters who seem to have misplaced their moral compass - *ahem* Reaper and Widow… yeah, you know what you did.

Jeff, hire her so we can get Tara in game? Thanks.

What do you think of the Tara concept? Would she sink or swim? Hit us up in the comments!
